Toyota GB can confirm that insurance cover on Toyota cars is unaffected by the current safety recall.
In a statement issued yesterday (4th February), the Association of British Insurers (ABI) said: “The ABI confirms that motor insurance policies will continue to cover Toyota owners affected by the recall of certain models”.

Customers have reported that under certain braking conditions, such as when hitting a bump, pothole or low grip surface, they notice a change in the braking feeling. This change in braking feeling is due to the specific set-up of the anti-lock braking system on third-generation Prius.
Toyota GB has announced further details of its accelerator pedal safety recall programme in the UK.
Following yesterday’s confirmation of the Toyota vehicles affected by the recall in the UK, the DVLA is in the process of providing contact details of owners and registered keepers of these vehicles.
