Talking ducks, keytars, exploding wheelie bins, poodles and packed lunches – Toyota’s 2016 Superbowl advert has it all.
Showcasing the new Prius, the 90-second ad will be shown during Sunday night’s big game between the Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos, to an audience of more than 100 million viewers in the US, and many more around the globe.
Titled ‘Heck on Wheels’, the spot was developed with Toyota USA’s agency Saatchi & Saatchi LA to highlight the unexpected features of the all-new Prius. The teaser touts the hybrid leader’s upgraded performance, fresh suite of safety technology features and sleek new styling.
Viewers who tune into the big game will discover how the #GoPriusGo hashtag may give them the chance to have their tweet featured in a live commercial airing in one of Toyota’s post-game spots.
The ad marks the fifth consecutive year Toyota has advertised during the Superbowl.
