One of the things we enjoy most about running this blog is the opportunity to connect with you and hear what you really think about your Toyota. Whenever you give us feedback or suggest a new feature, we pass on your comments to the people at Toyota that can make a difference. Back in August, for example, we launched the LED Technology Pack for the Prius in response to feedback you left on this very blog.

Well, we’re really pleased to let you know that this week, Toyota has introduced a new Safety Pack for the third-generation Prius T Spirit – including Adaptive Cruise Control, a feature I know many of you have expressed an interest in. Other features, such as the Pre-Crash Safety system (PCS) and LED low beam headlights, emphasise both advanced technology and eye-catching style – not that Prius is short of either!

The Safety Pack, which costs £2,975, is comprised of the following features:

– Pre-Crash Safety system (PCS)

– Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)

– Leather upholstery

– Dusk-sensing headlights

– LED low beam headlights with washers

– Electrochromatic auto-dimming rear view mirror

– Water-repellent front and side window glass

In addition, dark tinted rear privacy glass is newly available as an option for the T Spirit grade, and costs £265.

The Safety Pack is available to order on new Prius T Spirit models now. To contact your nearest Toyota Centre, please click here.

  1. Something else that would be good to include in the safety pack would be a speed limit indicator. BMW call it ‘speed limit display’ and Mercedes call it ‘speed limit assist’. Even the new Focus has it available.

  2. Hi Melissa,
By spending 3,grand on the new safety pack, will not make the slightest difference when you come to sell on your car or in exchange for a new Toyota! How ever if these items were included in a top model such as the Prius T spirit that would be something.Wow what a good idea.Think on this TOYOTA!!

  3. Am I correct in thinking that the UK safety pack does not include LKA (lane keep assist)?

Also is it true that it’s not possible to specify the safety pack and the solar roof together?

    Thanks.

  4. So does the T-Spirit in the UK now offer the adaptive cruise and lane keep assist ?!

If so I’ll be getting one!

  5. this is really a good news for customer and specially who are rash drivers.the safety pack is really helpful for customers…consumers just have to pay some money extra to safe their life…

  6. Melissa,

I just purchased a new TSpirit 15 days ago.Can I fit Adaptive Cruise Control in my Prius?

    Thanks

  7. I suspect I know Toyota’s marketing strategy well enough to answer this myself, but it has to be asked:

Can the safety pack (or any parts of it)be retro-fitted?

This good news for customers. A little while ago you indicated that Toyota would consider offering a choice of interior colours such as those available in the US. This would particularly be appreciated by customers forking out extra cash for leather, or for one of the packages that includes leather. Can you indicate whether there is any progress on this front?

    Thanks
