Toyota Positive – free rides up the hill

The Toyota Positive Movement is seeking great ideas to spread positivity, and this video could be the best example yet.

Daniel came up with the simple, but effective idea of using the Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid to give free lifts up Muswell Hill in London. The steep hill provides a fair challenge at the best of times, so the waiting car was a particularly welcome sight for the passers-by on a cold London day.

Helped with his friends Vicky and George, Daniel ferried mums and kids, young couples and older people up the hill all day long. His idea was the winning entry in a competition run in association with Londonist magazine.

The hill climb idea follows the vintage fashion giveaway, day of good deeds and yarnstorming videos from the Toyota Positive movement that we’ve already featured.

The Toyota Prius Plug-in hybrid can run in electric EV mode for up to 15.5 miles, with zero emissions, before switching over to its petrol engine. It’s a genuine alternative to petrol or diesel car, too – as we reported earlier this week, total worldwide sales of Toyota hybrids now stand at more than 5 million.

Toyota Positive is now looking for more ideas that will spread good feeling that can be made a reality. You can get in contact through toyotapositive.com (and watch the other videos) and let them know what you’d do with the car for a day.
