Toyota Prius+ gets the thumbs-up from the public

One of the family friendly stars of this year’s Geneva Motor Show is the new Toyota 7 seat Prius+. Europe’s first full hybrid seven seater will bring class-leading fuel economy and low emissions to the popular MPV market when it launches in the UK later this year.

We recently gave our new compact people carrier to What Car? magazine’s reader review team, who had the chance to get inside the car and give honest feedback.

This was an exclusive opportunity to see the Prius+ first-hand – click on the video below to see why the car made a successful first impression, not just on potential owners but also their children, the most discerning reviewers of them all!

Why not give us your thoughts on our new hybrid MPV? Are you an existing Prius or Auris Hybrid owner looking to benefit from extra seats? Or maybe you’ve always owned people carriers and would like to find out more about the benefits of hybrid power? Leave your comments below or join us on Facebook and Twitter, where you can also catch up with other Toyota news and discussions.

The Prius+ is available to pre-order now at Toyota Centres. To find out more about the car and to register your interest, visit our dedicated page on Toyota.co.uk.

  1. Do you have a date for release in the UK yet? I’ve read it has climate control for all passengers. Does that mean there are head high vents for the kids (which are great for stopping them getting car sick) or are they cooled/warmed by a vent in the middle at foot level – which is typical and does little for their comfort. Thanks.

    1. Hi Martin,
      Thank you for your questions!
The car has a centre console which has fans to cool passengers, there aren’t fans in the roof, or overhead section. It is designed to keep the entire cabin at the same temperature and therefore making all passengers comfortable. We are anticipating customer deliveries to commence the week beginning 9th July. Check out our car chapter for more info: http://ow.ly/bcZum. We hope this helps, many thanks.

  2. Have any non visable changes been made under the skin to the standard 2012 Prius such as extra sound proofing etc

    1. Hi Chris

Thanks for getting in touch, the Prius+ is based on a 2012 Prius, which means it will come with all the features and improvements that are standard on that model.

Let us know if you have anymore questions.

  3. The What Car? report claims the Prius+ will start at around £26000, is that true? If so that’s £1500 more than the top of the range 2.0 diesel T-Spirit Verso!

I’m afraid you wont sell many at that price…

    1. Hi Bryan

The total OTR price has not yet been confirmed, further details are expected to be released in April and we’ll let you know as soon as it’s official.

      Thanks for getting in touch.
