Toyota Verso price and specification

The Toyota Verso offers a fresh, sharp design, a feature-packed cabin and very competitive prices, starting at £17,770 for the five-seat 1.6 Valvematic Active model. At the other end of the model range is the seven-seat 1.6 D-4D and 1.8 Valvematic petrol Excel versions come in at £23,995 on-the-road.

Entry-level Verso Active comes equipped with front fog lights, air-conditioning, electric front windows, Hill-start Assist Control and, on the seven-seat version, Toyota’s quick and simple Easy Flat folding system for the rear seats.

Verso Icon grade benefits from cruise control, a DAB digital tuner, rear privacy glass and a folding function on the electrically adjustable door mirrors. Icon models also gain two-tone, machine-finished 16-inch alloy wheels.

At the top of the range, Verso Excel models come with 17-inch alloys and a raft of premium features, including leather seat bolsters, Smart Entry and Start, roof rails and automatic headlights and windscreen wipers.

Where options are concerned, the Toyota Touch multimedia touchscreen control system on the Icon and Excel models can be upgraded to Touch & Go, adding satellite navigation and on-board connectivity to Google Local Search (with appropriate mobile phones and service plans) with access to useful applications for more detailed local information and resources.

A Skyview panoramic roof is also available for Icon and Excel models. One of the largest on the market, it brings significantly more light into the cabin, increasing the sense of spaciousness (it cannot be fitted when roof rails are specified). An Appearance Pack is available for Icon grade, which provides bi-xenon HID headlights and LED daytime running lights with roof rails.

  1. Hi we are looking to buy a 15 plate verso excel with the panoramic roof, I know there are no roof rails but will we still be able to fit a rack for a roof box or will the panoramic roof not take the weight?
    Thanks

    1. Hi Kath,
You can use a Verso roof rack on a panoramic roof. For more information and sourcing the part to do so, we would recommend speaking with your local Toyota dealer.

  2. I have just ordered a Verso Elite, does it come with parking sensors or is this only available with the protection pack?

        1. Hi Peter,
No problem. The Verso comes with a reversing camera however if you would like Rear parking main kit – RHD you would need to purchase this as part of a Protection Pack! Hope this helps.

          1. Many thanks for that Ella, it has been ordered though Motability so I doubt it includes the protection pack. It is due for delivery in early January so I will contact Motability and ask them.

            Regards

    1. Hi Aldwin, thanks for getting in touch. We believe this should be possible. For further advice, and to arrange a fitting, please contact your local Toyota dealer. We hope this helps.

    1. Hi Manoj
      Thanks for your post.
We have checked this with our technical team and do not recommend changing your car outside of the manufacturer specification. There can be differences in fittings and wiring. Sorry we cannot provide more information but hope this helps clarify.

    1. Hello Pamela,
Thank you for your post. We have spoken with our accessory team and they have advised that assuming it is a new vehicle, this would cost £650. If the vehicle is already registered or in stock at a Toyota centre they will be able to provide you with a fitted price for your sat nav. Hope this helps clarify and if you have any other questions please let us know.

  3. Are there any plans to update the engines? I really like the car in terms of its design, practicality etc but I have been very disappointed with the diesel engine. I know the new Avensis has new engines and so will the new Auris. Will this happen to the Verso?

    1. Hi Ian
Thanks for your post and for your interest in the Verso.
The new diesel engine being introduced in the Auris and Avensis models (the 1.6-litre diesel unit) is already in the Verso as it was the first model to receive this unit back in early 2014. It replaced the 2.0-litre diesel unit that was fitted at the time. Hope this helps clarify and we recommend a test-drive at your local Toyota dealer to experience this for yourself. Hope this helps clarify but please let us know if you have any other questions.

  4. This appearance pack is not showing in the brochure or the current price list ,except the very small print at the bottom of one of the pages that states automatic heqdlamp leveling is available if the appearance pack is specified…but you cant specify it so why does it mention this ??? Confused !!??

    1. Hi Jonathan
Thanks for your post and for your interest in the Toyota Verso.
We have re-checked this information with the product team. They have confirmed that the Appearance Pack was removed from sale for the 2014 Verso. Unfortunately this change was not amended in the specification overview in the brochure and we apologise for any confusion caused. This will be amended for future printing and we thank you for making us aware of this. Please let us know if you have any query regarding the current specification of the Verso or if you require clarification on any part of this we would be happy to help advise.

    1. Hello Sue
      Thanks for your post.
You can fit a roof rack to a Verso with a panoramic roof. If you click on the link beloiw it will show you the roof rack and cost and your local dealer can help with ordering and fitting this for you. (Roof rails cannot be fitted to a panoramic roof).

Hope this helps and let us know if you have any other questions.

      1. Hi David
We bought a Verso with a Panoramic roof (64Reg). Is there an option of putting a Roof Box behind the Panoramic roof part of the roof, as there is a good 1-2 Ft space behind it?

I have gone through the accessories section and can not find any such option

        BW
        Matt

        1. Hi Matt,
Thank you for your post. We have spoken with our accessories team and they have advised not fitting a roof box to your Verso with a panoramic roof. Hope this helps and if you have any other questions please let us know.

  5. Can a new 2014 Toyota Verso (icon) I am shortly due to receive be retrofitted with an appearance pack (roof rails/HID headlights/LED daytime running lights).?. If so, how much will it cost me.

    1. Hi Steve,
      Thanks for your post.
Unfortunately it is not possible to retrofit an appearance pack to the 2014 Verso as the items you have mentioned are fitted at the factory.
      Hope this helps.

    1. Hi Ulfar
      Thanks for your post.
We do sell a Verso automatic, but this is currently only available with a 1.8-litre petrol engine.
Let us know if you have any more questions.

  6. You say that ‘A Skyview panoramic roof is also available for Icon and Excel models’ but also that ‘it cannot be fitted when roof rails are specified’

However, the Excel already has roof rails fitted from your description – so can the panoramic roof be added to the Excel model ?

    1. Hi Carl,
Thanks for your question and apologies for any confusion here.
The Skyview Panoramic Roof is an option available on the Excel grade of the new Verso. If this option was taken, the standard roof rails would not come with the vehicle.
If you would like to discuss the options available further, your local Dealer would be happy to help you. Their details are here: http://ow.ly/he4IY.
      Kind regards.

    1. Hi Mike,
Verso models Icon and Excel come with rear parking cameras as standard, which are displayed on the screen of the Toyota Touch system in the car. This isn’t available on the Active model. Front and rear parking sensors aren’t available on any new Verso models.
We hope this helps, many thanks.

      1. Thank you for your reply. The photograph above shows sensors on front of the car. Are front and rear sensors an option and if so does it include park assist.
        Regards
        Mike

        1. One of my criticisms of the Verso mark II was that front visibility whilst parking was very poor. My feeling is that the car would be much improved if front sensors were an option. Additionally, the sensor volume inside the car was very quiet with no option to adjust. Has this been addressed?

          1. Hi Nick,
            Thanks for your comments.
Front parking sensors aren’t available however the new Verso has a new front design which has improved front visibility. A rear view camera comes as standard on Icon and Excel grades which assists with parking. You can also get rear parking sensors as an accessory or as part of the Protection Pack. We’d recommend you taking a test drive so you can get a feel for the new Verso, find your nearest Dealer here: http://ow.ly/hKGD7.
Many thanks and have a good weekend.

    1. Hi Andrew,
There are no plans currently to introduce a Hybrid engine for the new Toyota Verso. If you were looking for a 7 seat hybrid vehicle, the Toyota Prius Plus maybe of interest, you can find out more here: http://ow.ly/h3b0C.
      Thanks for your question.

        1. Hi Andrew,
Within this car segment Toyota offer the new Prius+ which is the 7 seat hybrid model, new to the Prius range. You can find out more about the new Prius+ here: http://ow.ly/h5Mdb. The Verso will offer both petrol and diesel engines.
          Thanks for your comments.

  7. Will the Verso be available as a 5 seat diesel automatic? Will it be available with as a 5 seat automatic with a hybrid engine?

    1. Hi Alan,
The 5 seat Verso is available as a 1.6 valvematic engine with manual transmission, so unfortunately no diesel or automatic option. The 7 seat Verso comes with a 1.8 valvematic engine with Multidrive S transmission and 2.0 D-4D diesel engine with manual transmission. The new Verso will not have a hybrid engine option.
We’re sorry these were not the answers you were looking for, if there is anything further we can help with, do let us know.
      Many thanks.

  8. Hello,

When will the new Verso be available to configure on your web-site ? You still have the old model on there.

    Thanks,

    1. Hi Carl,
The new Verso will be available on our website at the end of January including the car configurator, the current model will remain until then.
      We hope this helps.
      Many thanks.

      1. Hello, There is still no car configurator on the site. It just says ‘coming soon’

Any ideas when this will be available ?

        Thanks

        1. Hi Carl,
Sorry this isn’t yet available. We expect this part of the site to be live towards the end of June.
We’ll keep you as up to date as we can here, on the blog. Please do keep checking back for the very latest.
          Many thanks.

          1. The end of JUNE !

You don’t mean that right ?

You mean the end of the week I hope and not the end of February.

          2. Carl, I’m so sorry, my mistake.
We are expecting the site to be live next week. Let me know if you need anything else.
            Once again, apologies. Many thanks.

          3. Just to let you know that the var configurator is still not working for the Verso ?

A terrible error by someone on your web-site team I assume…

          4. Hi Carl,
We are sorry for the delay with the Verso configurator. This will be live by the end of the week.
Please let us know if we can help with anything further in the meantime.
            Thanks.

    1. Hi Brian.
The Verso Icon grade comes with Halogen Daytime Running Lights as standard. LED daytime running lights come within the Appearance pack, which is available as an option on the Icon grade. The Appearance pack with these lights comes as standard on the Excel grade.
We hope this helps you and thanks for getting in touch.

  9. Hi. The current verso comes with touch and go as standard on tr and tspirit but it appears from spec above that the new model only comes with touch, and touch and go will be a chargeable option. Can you confirm if this is true. Thanks

    1. Hi Si,
Yes you’re correct this has changed, the Toyota Touch system comes as standard on the new Verso and the Touch & Go as an option on the Icon and Excel grades. The specification has been reviewed and updated for the new model still providing the same value of equipment but with different offerings.
Thank you for getting in touch with us and we hope this helps to explain.
      Kind regards.

  10. In a previous blog entry about the 2013 Verso you mention the 2.2 diesel being available…

“The 2.2-litre D-CAT diesel engine will also be available, with a choice of six-speed manual or automatic transmissions. The manual develops 175bhp with 159g/km CO2 emissions, the automatic 148bhp and 178g/km.”

Will these engines be added to the range at a later date?

    1. Hi Bryan,
Thank you for raising this with us.
The 2.2 litre D-CAT diesel engine will not be available in the UK, we have updated the original blog post to reflect this.
We apologise for any confusion caused and thanks again for bringing this to our attention.
      Many thanks and kind regards.
