The Paris Motor Show – Mondial de l’Automobile – runs from 4 to 19 October.
The iQ project’s chief engineer, Hiroki Nakajima, took the opportunity to explain his thinking behind the design:
My theory was that the group of people most suited to this car’s style, small size and premium edge would be described as ‘post-modern’ – people who demonstrate independence in their choice of lifestyle and values.
No longer a concept, it’s the project’s first show appearance in production form.
The Truth About Cars says the iQ is smarter than the Smart.
It arrives in the UK in January 2009.
