The Nottingham centre passed its latest assessment with flying colours earning the highly prized Grade 1 rating. Opened in 2008, the £14 million facility provides block-release training for hundreds of students and young apprentices from across the country in maintenance and repair, customer service, body and paint and vehicle parts skills. Graduates of the course achieve industry recognised qualifications and proceed to Toyota’s adult development programmes.
In his report, the inspector says: “The overall effectiveness of Toyota’s apprenticeship programme is outstanding and (it) provides excellent value for money. Learners enjoy their training and develop excellent industry skills, making a highly valued contribution to their workplaces.”
He adds that many of those attending the centre progress to “more responsible roles” and Toyota’s professional development programme, with many becoming mentors to other apprentices beginning their training.
The Toyota Academy performed well in a number of key areas, including the quality of training provided; the teaching and the materials used; and the structured career path open to everyone going through the training programme.

It is therefore outstanding news that Ofsted has given the Academy such a prestigious validation of the industry leading quality of our training facilities.”
