Auris Hybrid Feel Sing TV Advert

What is the music in the Toyota Auris TV advert?

Many of you have been asking what is the music in the new Toyota Auris TV advert.

The commercial is shot in the frantic streets of Mumbai, but the driver in his Auris Hybrid is oblivious to the chaos around him as he negotiates around elephants, taxis, buses, street sellers, cyclists and pedestrians. He does this while really getting into one of his favourite tracks.

The haunting song is called A Horse With No Name. It was first released in 1971 by a UK band called America. The track was inspired by a desert in a Salvador Dali painting.

However, the singer in the arrangement in the Auris TV ad is Rob Fardell. You can hear him in the TV advert below.

What songs do you think would suit a Toyota TV advert? Let us know in the comments section below.

  1. Hi Toyota, Can you tell me the name of the music used in the current Ad shown in UK, re: Toyota Hybrid sponsors film, with the model doing her make-up or something to here face. The clip is actually very short, which appears during film Ad breaks. Thanks Toyota!

    1. Hi Helen,
Thank you for getting in touch. The music used in the Toyota Hybrid sponsors film is by Glass Animals and the name of the track is Toes.

  2. Hello David,
I understand Rob Fardell is the singer in the ad, but I’m curious to know who recorded the new version of the song that appears at the end of the ad. It is clearly not the original version by America, and i would love to get hold of a copy of the whole track if it’s available?
    Thanks
    Steve

  3. The song is indeed Horse With No Name, by America, and the Mumbai section sounds like the original America recording, however the section at the end over the deserted roads is definitely a re-recording of the song. The drum kit is much more prominent and modern sounding, and there ‘s a rock electric guitar in there. Anyone know who the re-recorded version is by, or is it a remix of the America version?

  4. Well at least the new abridged ad doesn’t have him deliberately getting the words wrong…exactly what was the marketing idea behind that?

    1. No real idea behind it Gary. The original ad was a light hearted view of a happy driver singing but not knowing all of the words.
